Youth Connections

Working on behalf of Young People and communities across Inverclyde.

About Us

Youth Connections, by design, sits in the heart of one of the most deprived areas in Inverclyde. We have been providing community engagement and youth work activities for over 25 years with widespread support from agencies, groups, and schools.

We are a central hub of the Larkfield Community, based at Burns Square, in the Southwest and work closely and in partnership with community leaders and organisations to address the community planning-partnership and outcome improvement plan (2017-22).

We have recently, by request, taken over Gibshill Community Centre and are currently developing our modus operandi in the exact same way in this community.

Our Ethos

Youth Connections has provided outreach youth work activity not just in Larkfield, but also to other areas in Inverclyde including: Wemyss bay, Gibshill, Port Glasgow and Grieve Road.

We are committed to improving neighbourhoods, whilst offering young people access to new experiences, the chance to meet new friends and have fun.

Youth Connections also provides employability work placements to young people aged 18-24 years old and who are hardest to reach from the employability market. The project is part of the Youth Employability Initiative delivered by The Inverclyde Community Development Trust on behalf of Inverclyde Council.

Committed to Youth Development, Youth Connections deploy Inter - generational activities across the board on a daily basis, stimulating support and activities, all for the benefit of older community members. This ethos enables the project to develop a welcoming community Hub environment whilst retaining its major commitment to young people as a youth resource.

We work with community organisations & residents of Larkfield.
